Road trips are a really exciting way to travel. You don’t always need to have wireless internet or a computer to have fun. Road trips will have you bond with your companions, see parts of the country you’ve never seen before, relax, and travel on your own schedule. Let’s face it: there’s no way for your flight to get delayed or cancelled when you’re driving to your destination! You also won’t have to worry about cramming all of your stuff into a tiny carry-on bag or worrying if your luggage landed in Atlanta while you were landing in Boston. Even with all these benefits, road trips definitely require a certain amount of time-killing activities. Here are some ways to keep your road trips fun.

Make a mixed CD, tape, or playlist on your MP3 player. Nothing goes with cruising better than music, so make a collection of driving CDs. Be kind to your companions and include songs they’ll want to listen to as well. Be careful of too much mellow music, however: low-key music can increase tiredness.

Pack a cooler full of snacks. Sodas, sandwiches, chips, hummus, veggies– it’s up to you for what you want to take, but it’ll make the road trip more fun AND economical. You’ll feel less like you’re trapped in a car with a cooler full of goodies to take with you. If you’re a serious road-tripper, check out the coolers that plug directly into your car’s cigarette lighter. It’ll relieve the need for frequent ice stops.

Download a bunch of podcasts. If you’re one of those people who think that podcasts couldn’t be more boring, think again. Podcasts keep your mind more active than music, but they don’t require as much concentration as a book on tape. If you’ve got an interest, someone has made a podcast about it. You can find podcasts about anything from pop culture to microbrews, from books to music.

Take a book of riddles or trivia. The passengers can read the book aloud so everyone in the car can play. It’s a great way to stay active and engaged with each other after the conversation has run dry. “Would You Rather” books are also great.

Once in a while, you need to upgrade your car or get a car for yourself or someone in your family. When your credit is not good enough to get a traditional car loan, or you are simply looking for an alternative, cash loans may the alternative you are seeking.

Cash Loans

Cash loan providers, such as Plain Green loans, offer cash loans to those that need a little extra cash now rather than later. These types of cash loans have several advantages, but the first one is that everything is handled online. You can log on to the website of one of these cash loan providers to:

Apply

Receive approval or denial

Get the cash within 24 hours (generally during normal business days and hours)

Most cash loan lenders also allow you to make repayments online too. You can typically schedule automatic payments to debit from your bank account or use your bank account information to make a manual payment.

Size of Loans and Interest Rates

Cash loans of this nature typically fall at the lower end of the borrowing scale when it comes to the amount of the loan. Loan amounts tend to be as low as $250 and go up to about $1,000. Some lenders may have different range amounts, but check out a few cash loan lenders before making a final decision on which one offers the right loan amount, terms and conditions for buying a car. The interest rates for cash loans tend to be lower. In the end, cash loans give you the cash you need to buy the car you need now.

With gas prices skyrocketing, more and more people are opting to invest in energy-efficient vehicles. Before you splurge on that smart car, consider buying a scooter for your daily commute. You may be thinking a motorcycle or economy car has the same advantages, but scooters actually operate at drastically lower costs.

First of all, scooters cost less to purchase. Even if you buy the most expensive scooter on the market, it’s possible to insure the vehicle for a mere $10 a month. They also have a lower maintenance cost than motorcycles and are easier to work on.

Scooters may also be easier to drive for anyone not used to a motorcycle’s shift gears. Unlike a bike, scooters come standard with automatic transmission. Scooters also have all the advantages of motorcycles such as the ease of maneuver in traffic, parking in small spaces, and the fact that they’re just fun to ride.

They are also one of the most energy-efficient vehicles you can own. Most scooters get an average of 80 to 100 miles per gallon. Nothing else compares to their fuel economy. They’re also more powerful than you may think. Depending on the make and model of your scooter, you can enjoy speeds that top out at about 80 MPH, making them safe for highway and interstate travel.

Keep in mind that, just like motorcycles, scooters will not provide the same level of safety as a car. One will also leave you open to the elements, meaning that you’ll only be saving gas money on fair-weather days. Weigh the pros and cons to determine whether or a not a scooter would fit into your lifestyle.

A typical reason for Americans to refinance their automobile stems from dissatisfaction with their current loan. Car refinancing can assist you in reducing your monthly payments and get an interest rate superior to the one you are paying now.

The process of car refinance loans can be puzzling and worrying at first, but an understanding of the basic process can alleviate these fears and confusions and allow you to refinance your car comfortably. Selecting a new lender can be a tedious process, but there are several organizations and websites that can assist you in evaluating the various rates. Also, remember that your local bank may offer refinancing services at a better rate than what you are currently paying.

Once you have compared rates and decided on a new lender, they will require your monetary data, often including your credit background, annual income, debts, or endowments. When your information has been processed and you have been approved for auto refinance, you may have to pay a few fees that can consist of prepayment to your new lender, registration charges from the state, and lien ownership fees.

At this point, your new lender will recompense your existing car loan to your original lender, thus reassigning the car loan to your new lender. Your car’s title will also be given over to the new lender you have selected. Once these steps have been completed you will make your monthly payments to the new lender that you have selected. Understanding these basic steps will allow a smooth refinancing of your car that is not stressful and can save you money.

Getting pulled over for a DUI can be a nerve racking experience, even if you know you have not had any alcohol. Although the specific DUI laws change from state to state, there are common things to expect if you are pulled over by the police under the suspicion of driving while under the influence.

After pulling you over for suspicion of DUI, a police officer may ask to conduct a number of different sobriety tests on you. These sobriety tests can include coordination exercises, such as following a light with your eyes and balancing on one leg. It is thought that such things cannot be performed satisfactorily by an intoxicated person. However it is also known that some of these tests, such as balancing, may be difficult for a sober person with a balance issue. Submitting to a few different sobriety tests will ensure the right conclusion is made by the police officer.

In some states you are required to submit to either a blood or breathalyzer test to test for alcohol. There is always a choice between these two tests. These tests are required to be performed at a police station. A blood test is more accurate than a breathalyzer test. However, taking a breathalyzer test is more time effective than a blood test.

If you know you have not been drinking, then submitting to sobriety tests and alcohol tests should not be a problem for you. It is better to take the tests than to refuse. Transportation is important to us in this day and age. Keeping safe on the roads is an important message for us all.

Saving money doesn’t have to mean that you have to buy dull products that don’t offer much fun. That’s true even when it comes to buying cars. You might find that you have to look to older models to get the most fun out of every dollar, but there are plenty of especially cheap cars that are fun to drive. Check out these three inexpensive cars to drive in warm weather. They might help you find options that you had never thought of before.

The Mazda Miata

The Mazda Miata isn’t a cheap car, but you can find first generation cars sold for around $3000. That’s quite a deal considering what you get for your money. The 1989-1994 Miatas have 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engines that offer more speed than you might expect. They also have sensitive steering that makes it easy for you to hug tight curves.

Even though the first generation model has been around for a couple decades, many used car dealerships and individuals have Miatas that haven’t been driven very much. When these cars were released, a lot of people purchased them as fun vehicles to drive on the weekend. That means you can find low-cost Mazda Miatas that could offer you years of summer driving fun.

The Smart Fortwo

Whether you’re heading to the beach or a downtown restaurant, parking is often a real pain during the summer months when tourists crowd the most popular destinations. You won’t have any trouble squeezing into tight spaces with a Smart Fortwo. This lightweight vehicle probably isn’t what you think of when you hear the word “two-seater.” It doesn’t have the power of a muscle car, but it burns less fuel and has enough get-up-and-go to merge easily on the expressway. If you’re interested in saving money and you’re tired of searching for a parking spot, then this might be the summer vehicle that you need. Plus, you can’t rule out the cute factor. It’s one of the most adorable models on the road.

The Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler’s appearance hasn’t changed much over the years, but newer models have improved gas efficiency and safety requirements. Most importantly, though, the newer models can still handle every surface from blacktop to dirt. If you like to go off-road, then this is the vehicle for you. Look into slightly older models such as the YJ, which Jeep manufactured from 1987 to 1995, to save money. They’re inexpensive to purchase and cheap to maintain. Plus, you can take off the panels to enjoy the warm summer breezes.

In addition to thinking about the price that you pay for your fun summer vehicle, you should also consider the amount of money that you will pay for fuel and insurance. Getting auto insurance that meets your budget requirement is easy when you have a reliable car with a good safety record. Pay attention to all of your options and you can enjoy yourself without spending much money.

What have been some of your favorite warm weather vehicles, and how much did you pay for them?

The quest seems impossible: a new car must be purchased; a bargain must be found. Style and economics must be combined. You simply assume that it can’t be done.

Automobile manufacturers Chrysler are recalling thousands of vehicles this months and next after possible problems with their performance were uncovered.

This month the auto giant will begin a recall of twenty thousand Jeep Wrangler 2010/2011 models due to the possibility of deterioration in some hardware connections. Some owners have reported perishing to the axle joins of their vehicles which have led to reduced control over the manoeuvrability of the vehicles. A total of 19 parts are believed to be vulnerable to the possible fault and owners are being advised to return to their vehicle dealership with this car in order for these to be replaced to reduce the risk of accidents due to a loss of driver control. One of my friend, from NY, who is busy in UFX Markets Trading always has faced this problem too.

Then starting in April (2011) dealers will be contacting those who purchased Chysler Town and Country Models as well as those who bought Dodge Grand Caravan and Dodge Journey all wheel drive models of the 2010 design in order to book them in for replacement of parts after owners reported sudden loss of power during a journey.

The fault is believed to stem from a faulty ignition key system, with the engine effectively being switched off by accident in transit. As a result all owners are being offered a replacement too this part of the ignition system in order to avoid any problems – two accidents are already believed to have been reported as a result of this fault and a total of almost a quarter of a million vehicles are believed to be possibly affected.

Leading automobile manufacturer Honda is believed to be about to issue a recall notice for one of their hybrid cars, the recall will be one of the first ever for vehicles of this type.

With the Lexus HS 250h model also being subject to a recall, Honda now enjoys the dubious honour of joint first place in the hybrid recall stakes.

The car giant is expected to issue a notice in the middle of this month (March 2011) recalling more than 36,000 Honda Civic hybrid models after a report reveled that they could be affected by a potentially dangerous fault.

The cars, which are models manufactured in 2006 and 2007, have been the cause of complaints from consumers who have experienced issues of power loss to both the engine and the vehicles’ headlights.

The fault, which is believed to be caused by a problematic volt converter, can on occasion cause vehicles to stall and in some cases fail to restart, which could be hazardous when driving in traffic. Loss of headlight beams could mean the vehicle loses visibility in darker conditions making this another possible hazard to drivers and passengers.

Because of this the car firm is expected to ask the owners of as many as 36,656 Civic hybrids to return to their dealer in order for the affected part to be replaced.

Vehicle owners should not be charged for the work and once performed the cars should no longer be at risk of loss of power with this faulty converter as the cause.

When you are ready for an upgrade on your car there are plenty of things that you can do with your current car. The simple and most obvious solution is to sell it. However, there may be a much better solution for your used car. That would be to donate it to an organization like Kars for Kids.

There are plenty of reasons to donate your car and the first one has to do with the fact that your car will benefit someone else through your donation. It’s a great way to give back, and while it’s a selfless act on some level, there are also significant financial benefits to giving your car to a charity.

If the charity is legitimate, then there are tax breaks for giving your car. You can use the value of your used car in your yearly tax returns as a deduction to your income. That means your tax bill will be lower or your refund will be fatter.

Something else to consider is to be smart about the organization you choose for your donation. There are plenty of places that perform charity work, but there are plenty more that are not legitimate and are not going to be able to give you a tax write off.

You want to make sure that you charity is recognized by the IRS. If the organization does not have IRS recognition, it is not one you should choose with the thought of getting a tax break on the donation. Donating to a charity like Kars for Kids is a great chance to give your car away to a recognized charity and to help those children in need get the kind of education that they deserve.

Making sure you follow the right steps and get the right information about the charity you are interested in you can guarantee a safe donation. It’s great to give back and giving a car can help those in need as well as yourself.

Owners of more than twenty thousand Toyota brand vehicles are being encouraged to return to their dealer to have their vehicles checked for a possible fault, it has emerged.

The Japanese firm has asked dealers to contact the owners of a number of models of Toyota vehicle after a fault was discovered that could prove hazardous to drivers and passengers if left undetected.

Drivers who have purchased a Toyota Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser or Sequoia in the ’08 through too ’11 models will be asked to return to their dealer in order for corrections to be performed.

The cause of the recall is believed to be an error in the way in which the pressure monitors for tyres have been calibrated in the car’s on board computers. Tests have shown that warnings will not necessarily be sounded in accordance with federal regulation if tire pressures drop below a quarter of the recommended pressure.

The mistake is believed to be due to the fitting of non standard show wheels on some models without any adjustments to the cars’ on board computers.

Owners of any of the affected vehicles are being asked to visit their dealers in order to ascertain whether their vehicle is affected and, if so, allow for calibration corrections to be carried out.

All amendments will be effected with no cost to vehicle owners after which the problem should be completely corrected and pose no risk to road users.

A total of twenty two thousand vehicles could possibly be affected.

How good would you look and feel in an Audi? The Audi brand of automobile has been leading the pack in innovative technology for decades. The smooth, sleek styling’s coupled with German engineering makes this car a popular favorite in television car-chases and action movies across the world. Turn on the television for an hour, and you’re likely to see at least one Audi commercial espousing this champion vehicle.

Think an Audi is out of your price range? Maybe not if you consider a used Audi for sale to fit the bill of the car that you have always dreamed of. You’ve reached the age in your life where it’s time to stop being practical and think outside the box. An Audi is one of those cars that doesn’t depreciate over time and holds its value well into double-digit years of life. Think about it! A person that buys a new Audi is going to take care of it. It’s the car of their dreams and it’s going to be maintained as if it were new. Translation to that is, a used Audi is going to come to you in mint condition and you’re going to reap the benefits for years to come.

A used Audi for sale can fit the bill of a family car, a second car and even a single guy or gal car that will make your friends always ask you to drive. Chances are the Audi you get that is used is going to have a stellar interior, get the fuel mileage that you desire and seriously upgrade the way you feel about the vehicle you drive. The technology used to build that original Audi, guarantees that this car is going to be with you for a while. It’s a worry free, smart and savvy purchase when you think Audi for your next vehicle.

If you are planning on taking your family anywhere by car while on vacation it is important that you have the right seating arrangements in place.

While seatbelts are there to protect fully grown adults in the event of an accident, they are not designed to protect little bodies and therefore specialised car seats are a must.

Child car seat regulations vary across the world, with less developed countries having less strict requirements for car seats, but if you plan on travelling with your children it is important to always ensure that they are safely and securely seated within a vehicle.

While rental companies may offer child seats as an extra in some areas, parents travelling to a country where child car seats are not a legal requirement may wish to take their own safety seats with them to ensure that their children are protected at all times when travelling.

However, as these items are bulky to transport they may also want to look into buying a child safety seat when they arrive in their country of destination. If parents do decide that this is the best option, they will need to ensure that the seats they choose while away from home conform to all the necessary safety standards. Buying from a familiar big name brand is a good idea, while second hand seats should not be considered as a previous accident could have invisibly weakened their structure leaving them unfit for further use.

For infants parents are best using a rear facing car seat, but should ensure that airbags are disabled if they intend to place this in the front seat of a vehicle. Rental companies should advise on how this can be done.

There are many different reasons why you may find yourself in need of selling your car. Whether you’re upgrading your car for something better, something bigger, or just consolidating to one car fewer for the household; selling your car can involve a lot of factors. Follow along as we look at the options involved in selling your car.

You need to consider all of your options if you find yourself saying, “I need to sell my car fast!” These methods should be approached cautiously in order to make the most of selling your car. With some time you’ll be able to select the best option relative to your needs. Currently the Internet represents a versatile, effective, and convenient way to sell your car fast.

It is first of all important to approach the different ways in which you could sell your car. Selling your car to a private seller will often get you the best price. A trade-in is another option, which is often a good way to go if you want some leverage in talking down the price of a new car. Third-party services are also possible, giving you a fair price where you can easily compare them to others.

A trade-in can allow you to haggle a bit more due to the multiple transactions that can take place with the purchase of a new car. The disadvantage is that it is not convenient or quick. Additionally, dealerships are traditionally not always known to give you the best price for your used vehicle.

Private and third-party services are recommended for selling your car fast. You can easily use the Internet to obtain price quotes on your current car. Also, with a quick inspection you can quickly get the ball rolling in terms of selling your car. It is much quicker than more conventional methods and more convenient.

The issue presented in the title has been a serious debate these days on the automotive front. Think back to some of the issues involving wiretapping and other forms of privacy invasion; is GPS tracking really any different? Here’s the full story of the issue: many insurance companies are now implementing a discount on premiums in exchange for drivers using “GPS Trackers” in their vehicles. Now, for those who have might missed what that might imply given the natural meaning behind “GPS,” here’s what you need to know.

What the Trackers Monitor

Essentially, what these trackers do is monitor everything you do in your vehicle – how fast you drive, your destinations, your mileage; name it, and these trackers probably monitor it. The collected data then gets sent to the insurance company as a means to calculate pretty much on a monthly basis what your premium would be. The only thing they definitely won’t do is put you on video!

The Pros and Cons

On the one hand, you can imagine the savings. Simply drive defensively, within speed limits, lay off on the mileage, make sure you follow directions, that sort of thing: your car insurance company will see that you’re being responsible and will reward you for it with lowered premiums. However, some are touchy on the simple issue of privacy. You can imagine the possibilities if you end up breaking the law somehow and the information gets sent to the company as basically free content recorded for all of them to see. Make no mistake, though: whatever you do in your life is simply your life, and if you’re an upstanding citizen, one couldn’t imagine being vehement against the idea of a tracker practically watching your every move behind the wheel. You have nothing to hide, right?

The good news is this: typically, this discount and technology gives the driver the freedom to monitor their own actions online with the use of a personalized code. Basically, if you’re a driver utilizing this GPS tracking technology, you can actually see just how your driving is measuring up and how much you’d be saving. Moreover, this technology even compares your driving habits with the average driving habits of others out on the road! Pretty nifty. Statistically, people –notably teenagers – drive a lot more safely when there’s a watchful eye, be it a patrol car, or even a parent sitting on the passenger seat. So you can understand the benefits of having this option from your insurance company: lower premium rates, plus a safer driving record.

Ask yourself this one question: are you a general human rights activist or a money-saving individual? Discounts are always good, particularly when you’re dealing with an insurance premium protecting your vehicle from something that might happen. But how comfortable are you with being constantly checked on as you drive? It’s like being watched by a microscope. Even if you’re generally a good person, never breaking any laws, not ever getting into accidents – how comfortable are you with seeing your driving habits compared to others out there? Think on it. Your choice might save you a good chunk of money.

If your family has been blessed by a new arrival there is nothing more exciting than the moment that mom and baby are finally allowed to leave the hospital to begin their new life at home.

However, this moment can be marred if parents have not invested in the correct infant carrier for their vehicle in advance of the special day.

Some hospitals will not allow parents to leave the premises with their new charge unless they have ascertained that the correct infant car seat is available for travel, so families will need to ensure that they have made the right arrangements in advance of the big event.

Infant carriers fro use in vehicles are usually rear facing as this is the safest design for babies of this age. These should usually be fitted in the rear of the vehicle, however if it is necessary to fit them in a front seat parents should ensure that any airbags have been disables as these can cause serious injury or even be fatal to infants travelling in rear facing seats int he event of a crash.

As babies are often loaded into carriers to be carried from the hospital building to the car or other vehicle, it is a good idea for new parents to have a practice run at fitting the seat securely to avoid any delays and ensure children will be correctly protected during their first journey.

New parents should not be tempted to buy second hand seats from people they do not know as previous impacts can cause invisible damage that renders the seat unsafe. New parents should go for online colleges rather to study baby caring tips.

During these trying financial times, it seems as if everyone is looking for new ways to cut back. While many focus on cutting back on entertainment expenses or groceries, one area that is often overlooked is the car payment. After all, a car is a necessary expense–everyone needs one. Luckily, in many cases, auto refinance loans are available and can benefit the consumer in several important ways.

Fixed or Variable

Some consumers have loans that are based on variable interest rates while others have fixed rates. A variable interest rate may change on a fairly regular basis based on current financial standings in the country. A fixed rate stays the same, regardless of other economic factors. While both have their benefits, in many cases it may be advisable to make a change. For example, if interest rates are steadily falling, a variable rate loan may actually provide the loan holder with lower rates.

Monthly Pay Out

The most notable benefit of refinancing is an obvious reduction in the amount of money required each month to make a payment. Auto refinance loans typically have a big impact on the dollar amount that’s paid each month. This difference is based on a variety of factors including interest rates and the term of the loan.

Loan Term

During the refinancing process, it is very common that the term of the loan may be adjusted. A consumer who had an original loan with a term of four years, of which two have passed, may take out another loan for an additional three years, making the total loan term five years. This can have a big impact on the total amount of money paid over the term of the loan.

An auto refinance loan can be an excellent way to help control costs during troubling economic times. These loans can also make sense for those who are attempting to streamline their finances.

Riding a motorcycle as either a driver or a pillion passenger is an exhilarating experience, but this is a mode of transport than can be dangerous and no one should ever get on a bike without wearing the correct safety gear.

Starting from the feet up, motorcycle riders need to be protected as much as possible in the event of an accident to ensure the best possible outcome so riders should first of all invest in a pair of sturdy motorcycle boots. Motorcycle boots should support the ankle but should also allow enough free movement for efficient gear changes. The soles of motorcycle boots should have enough of a grip to keep feet in place on pegs or pedals but should not have so much traction that they can cause the foot to catch as the rider attempts to put it down.

The legs and body of motorcycle riders should be protected by specially made trousers and jackets. Ideally clothing should be in a friction resistant material to reduce the chances of sliding injuries. Padding or plating should be present in key areas such as the knees, hips, back, shoulders and elbows.

Bikers should always invest in a proper pair of motorcycle gloves, the best being those with plating on the upper areas of the hand to protect for impacts and friction in the event of an accident.

Finally, anyone planning on getting on a motorcycle should be wearing a well fitted helmet that conforms to all of the relevant safety standards. Helmets should be fastened at all times and riders may wish to invest in a tinted or treated visor that best corresponds to their own riding conditions.

If you are in the market for a new car, this may be one time that you enjoy seeing “pop-up” ads appear on your monitor, especially if they direct you to a link that provides online “coupons” for new cars. Depending on the amount of the “coupons” as well as the terms and conditions you may be able to enjoy some real savings.

Here are a few things to look for when researching online coupons:

Website appearance. If there are a lot of spelling errors or the website appears to be poorly maintained, the chances are that the coupons won’t be worth that much, either. Instead, look for websites that tell you up front that these websites have been checked before they were posted, or that tell you whether or not the website can be accessed.

Exact wording. This means that you can tell at a glance exactly what the “coupon” offers. For example, it may not actually be a “money off” coupon; rather, it is a “coupon” that takes you to a specific site where you can get information on new cars.

How the website is actually set up. Some websites have the “coupons” readily available on the very first page. Others require that you click one or more links to actually get to where you can see the “coupons.”

Resourceful Sites. Sites like Edmunds have been around a long time and provide some great information. You can find some hints and articles on car manufacturers that are offering deals all around their site.

Still others make you click a link to get to the information page, where you then have to “point and click” on several selections, then click go, enter, search, or another word to get to another page where, surprise, you have to click on even more selections.

One site offering “coupons” required at least seven different clicks, each of which required more selections before taking you to yet another page that required you to narrow down your selection options even more. If you have the time or the willpower to navigate your way through all those links, then you may like this type of website. Most likely, however, you are going to want to go to one that’s a little simpler to navigate.

Remember that the “coupons” may not actually be for a cash or rebate, although that certainly is possible. Rather, these “coupons” help you in your search for a new car. Read the information thoroughly, however, because mentioning the website or a specific “promo” code may actually offer you some savings.

The best online new car “coupon” websites are those that give you a synopsis of the deals, rebates, incentives, and other things being offered on the home page, and then give you a link to follow to receive more information. These are probably the best ones to visit because, as mentioned above, everything is “up front” and you don’t have to go on a scavenger hunt just to find the information you need.

BOTTOM LINE

If you find good new car coupons, be nice and share the information with your friends. Not only will you be helping them, but you may get additional incentives for referrals.

There’s no doubt about it: flying is getting more expensive. Airlines are imposing fees for everything from baggage to priority seating requests. Flyers often check a variety of budget travel sites in order to try and get the best deal. New travel search sites may be coming: sources indicate that search empire Google is trying to get in on the budget travel search market. Google wants to make travel searches more open; for example, would-be student can type in general keywords (online degree, online classes, online courses, etc.) and a specification, and Google reveals the related online education details that meet these requirements. As well as it do it for travel searches.

Another change comes from American Airlines, which is seeking to deliver their information regarding flights and fares directly instead of paying to list it on travel agents’ sites and central reservation systems. This would increase American Airlines’ total profits. Online travel agents like Orbitz and Expedia no longer list American Airlines on their sites as a result. If American Airlines’ new system proves successful in the future, it would give airlines a much greater control in their ticket price searches. Airlines would be then able to ensure their lowest prices only show up on certain websites. This could make it much more difficult for customers to compare different flights and airlines side-by-side.

Since airline tickets are no longer “one seat, one fare,” customers already face a more complicated purchasing experience. Generally, customers don’t care where they sit: they just want the cheapest price. They don’t care as much about the services and add-ons American Airlines want to offer. American Airlines is arguing that letting themselves control the searches means they can better tailor their services and add-ons to each customer. This “recommendation” system would allow airlines to build brand-name loyalty more easily instead of letting customers comparison shop the way they do on sites like Orbitz or Kayak.

A recent government proposal suggests putting a crash recording device in cars that would work much the same way that black boxes in airplanes do. The crash recording devices would record information that would include clues on how and why the crash occurred. This proposal comes hot on the heels of Toyota’s “sticking accelerator” issue that plagued the car company last year. These Toyotas had “event data recorders” installed within the vehicle. These event data recorders allowed researchers to analyze Toyota crash data and find that faulty electronics are not the reason for Toyota’s sticking accelerator issue. The accelerator problem did cause 50 deaths, however. The issue also led to an 8 million vehicle recall by Toyota.

Event recorders are already installed in about 80-90 percent of new car models on the market. The government is debating making such recorders mandatory for safety reasons. The American Automobile Association, or AA, is behind this effort. Justin McNaull, the AAA spokesperson, argued that the recorders will provide safety researchers the ability to analyze crash data and recognize certain factors in the car and the driver’s interaction with the car that happen before the crash, during the crash, and after the crash. This will hopefully lead to safer cars with more defense mechanisms in the future. McNaull also argued that making the crash recorders mandatory will save lives in the future, thanks to the safer car designs.

On the opposing side, privacy advocates argue that such devices are a breach of privacy to the American public. John Verdi, from the Electronic Information Privacy Agency, released a statement arguing that American motorists do not expect to be tracked everywhere they go. Since some recorders have GPS capability and the ability to use a wireless network in order to transmit information, the Electronic Information Privacy Agency worries that the devices could be used as surveillance means without the driver’s knowledge.

We all hate to fly. Whether it’s the lines, the delays, the cancellations, the luggage requirements, the security rules, or the security checkpoints themselves, flying nowadays is full of headaches. The TSA is looking to make things a little easier and quicker for willing passengers.

The Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, recently announced that they are considering a recent idea of a “trusted traveler” program. In theory, the program would make traveling much more efficient for passengers willing to enter the program and give detailed personal information ahead of time. They would then hopefully pass more easily through security checkpoints.

The head of the Transportation Security Administration, John S. Pistole, told the House of Representatives transportation subcommittee that such a program might include a different type of security screening for these select passengers, rather than the “one-size fits all” approach airlines use currently. The TSA is looking critically at a risk-based security screening system.

This is relieving to some travelers outraged at the stricter TSA security standards that now include full-body scanners. Those who refuse full-body scanners are then subjected to very thorough full body pat-down inspections. If any travelers may be carrying suspicious items, they are subjected to the same pat-downs. The full-body scanners are frequently criticized because they use a full-body image that is considered by some to be too graphic. The TSA has reported they are looking at new software that only uses a straight outline of the body, much like a cookie cutter, instead of the nude body images which some consider indecent and a breach of privacy.

Certain other countries do use a risk-based system rather than the generic security system used by the United States. These systems utilize personal information collected before the flight as well as officials trained to recognize dangerous behavior patterns. The TSA has not indicated when they would be done examining the risk-based security system for flights.

Owning a car is a rite of passage for many. It’s a sign of independence in life and in finances. People love and value their opportunity to own a car, but of course the rite of passage that occurs with having often comes with unexpected repairs and emergencies. There is no one that ever said owning a car was a cheap proposition, but there are few that prepare you for the unexpected cost of having to repair that car.

The problem with a repair cost is that there is rarely a good time financially for it to occur. Most people are already use their income to the maximum and there is a rarely the flexibility to make more money in a short period of time. The occurrence of a repair can seem insurmountable and be the reason for a great deal of stress.

There one good thing that has happened for the car owner is that there are several options in the event of a car repair issue. One of the first places people look is to friends and family who can help you out with a short term loan. Of course there are people who shy away from this because borrowing money from family and friends can be a stressful situation.

There are those who choose to sell their personal items in order to come up with the cash that is needed to get the repair done. Of course the value of these are not consistent and often are only worth what they can get for them. So, for many people the best choice is to get a short term loan from GreatPlainsLending or some company similar. They do not require good credit and specialize in small, shorter term loans. Their flexibility to pay the loan back is a big selling point, and it’s one that can make a big difference in getting your car repaired so you can go and earn money again.

Sure, there are a million reasons why you may be tempted to fly to your next destination. It’s a heck of a lot faster. You’ll spend a lot less time in the car and a lot more time at your destination. If you play your cards right and watch the airline deals, it could even be a lot cheaper than driving if you consider gas prices, tolls, and wear and tear on the vehicle. However, don’t let these reasons fool you: you may find that you like traveling by car, even on long trips, better than flying in an airplane. Here are some reasons to consider taking a car for your next trip.

It can be a lot cheaper, especially on last-minute trips. Did you get invited on a last-minute trip to the beach? Did you decide to surprise your significant other with a weekend getaway? Good luck finding a great deal on plane tickets. You’ll have much more luck packing the car, hitting the road, and finding a last-minute deal at a hotel or bed & breakfast than trying to find a reasonable flight price and schedule.

The journey is just as fun as the destination. Why are you racing to get to your destination? When you think of driving, do you think of a madcap dash to the finish line? Traveling by car doesn’t have to be like this. Simply keep your eyes out while you’re driving. If you see a nice park, stop. If you see a quaint town, drive through it. Stop for lunch if you see a cool restaurant. Slow down and enjoy the ride. Think of it this way: you’re getting to see much more of the country this way. You’re learning a lot more about the areas you’re passing through than you would from an airplane window.

There’s no need for outside transportation. Rental cars aren’t cheap. Taxis aren’t either. This way you’ll have a place to store your stuff– and best of all, you can pack as much as you want without worrying about airline luggage restrictions.

Chances are, you probably thought your first car would be a flashy little number your friends would drool over in the school parking lot. You’d be the talk of your school in your shiny new convertible or sports car. However, a used car will teach you so much more about the world of automobiles than a new car will. Sure, it won’t come with all the tricks and thrills a new car will: no place to plug in your iPod, no XM radio, no fancy new features. You don’t need all that. Here are some benefits of having an older car for your first car.

Obviously, it’s cheaper. Save your money (or your parents’ money). It’ll be cheaper to repair. Many times, you won’t have to go to a dealership, which can hike up prices, especially when compared to a locally-owned garage. You’ll be in a much better place to haggle for a cheaper price than with a new car, too. As an added bonus, if it’s particularly old, you won’t have to worry as much about taking immaculate care of it, either. This does NOT mean you should be careless with your car; it just means that if your friend spills ketchup on the passenger seat, it won’t be nearly as big of a deal.

Forget Car Talk: an older car is just the thing to teach you about having, owning, and repairing a car. Face it now: your car WILL break down. Hopefully, it will give you enough time to get home or to a garage without being stranded. Since we live in a car-dependent society, it’s important for you to understand that machines break. They will break. No machine is invincible. So your alternator may go out one day. You may have problems with the transmission or a leak in your coolant tank. While it may seem like the end of the world at the time (especially if your car breaks down on the freeway), it won’t be. At the very least, your older car will teach you what an alternator or coolant tank is.

One of the first things that you learn when you become a mother is that there is no shortage of surprises. Things come up all the time that you did not expect, such is simply the nature of having a children and growing your family. Being a mother can definitely mean having to deal with unexpected situations, and as such, unexpected costs as well.

Imagine having your car stall out on the way to take a child to school, or having baby supplies expenses come up that you simply cannot afford. Imagine having a week where everything seems to go wrong all at once, and you find yourself having to decide whether you are going to spend the last of your money on diapers or trying to get your car running again. You cannot let yourself struggle with this type of decision, not when you consider that there are solutions out there.

When something unforeseen comes up and seems to be getting in the way, please know that you do have options available to you. You can borrow money from a family member, for example, or you can borrow money from some other means. Websites like Paydayone.com will allow you to borrow money when you need it the most. These short term lending options are ideal for people who are in a bind. Stop struggling to make unnecessary decisions about how to spend your last few dollars when there are lending options that will suit your financial situation. You can forgo having diapers and other baby supplies in the house, you can go for a week or two without having a car to get around, or you can make a smart decision and take out a family friendly loan that will help you get out of the financial bind quickly and safely.

When is the last time you checked out the options available for your car insurance? Insurance is something that many of us spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on each year. You owe it to yourself to regularly check around and make sure you are getting the best price and benefits for your money.

So, how hard is it to compare prices on insurance? In today’s connected society it’s as easy as logging on the Internet and filling out a form. Many of the insurance companies offer the opportunity to compare rate plans across several companies in one place. This is the easiest way to see what features you want and see which company will save you the most.

I blindly used one company for many years, feeling like I was getting a pretty good deal until I compared what I was paying to that of a friend. I went home that day and compared prices on the internet and found that I could save over $300 a year and still get the same services I always had. I removed some coverage that I no longer needed because I was driving an older car, and suddenly I’m paying $600 less than I was previously. No matter who you are, this is enough money to make you stop and take notice.

Comparing insurance companies and plans is a step that should be taken by everyone, if they have the opportunity. You certainly can’t lose money by checking out all your options and you have the chance to save a bundle. One caution though is to not change your service to a company you are not familiar with unless you check them out on the internet before you commit. You don’t want to make a mistake that could cost you in the long run.

Car seats, as in the built in seats that you ride in, are something that I am passionate about. I cannot stand to ride in a car that has uncomfortable seats. When I look back at how car seats have changed since I was a child, I am amazed. I don’t think that I could go back to the way things were all those years ago, I’m spoiled to the little extras that make my car more comfortable and make riding enjoyable.

When I was a child, the first car I remember riding in was an Oldsmobile Cutlass. This was a very nice car at the time, but it had bench seats in the front and back both. I was just a child, but I can only imagine that it was hard for the driver to not be able to adjust his seat in relation to the steering wheel.

This could have been a safety issue, especially for someone who was larger or smaller than the average person. I have very long legs so I wind up putting my seat quite a bit further than my husband does when he drives my car. I think we would both be uncomfortable if we had to keep the seat in the same location all the time.

Other than simply moving the seat around, another thing that many car makers have installed is lumbar support. I’m a huge fan of this feature. I love having extra support on my back, especially when I am going on a long car ride. The lumbar support is simple to use, I just press a button to determine how much or how little support I want on my back at any given time. My mom does not like the lumbar support so it is easy enough for her to adjust the support to become minimal if she rides with me on a trip.

As an adult who has owned at least 10 cars in the past 15 years I have learned that there are many features that are found or not found in vehicles that are the difference between loving and hating a vehicle.

First, I think that remote start is one of the greatest inventions known to man. I’m a Georgia native and therefore hate cold weather. From October until March I’m miserable and dread going outside. Remote start on my car allows it to warm up and be nice and toasty and ready for me to climb in. This is an amazing feature and one I highly recommend to anyone.

Secondly, I’m a sucker for comfy seats. I don’t actually like what are considered luxury seats, leather does not feel comfortable to me and I don’t want a really plush seat. I just want something that surrounds me and makes me feel secure. The most comfortable seats I ever had were in my 1996 Ford Thunderbird, they felt like they were made for me.

Another feature that is a must have for me is multiple cigarette lighter adaptors. I use a plug in MP3 player and a GPS system and if I can’t use them both at the same time I tend to be very sad. More cars should come with two or even three of these handy plug ins standard.

My mom is one of the most frugal individuals on earth and her last car purchase did not have power locks and windows. I can live without the power windows, and in fact see the logic in purchasing with these, as power windows tend to wind up with broken motors and it is an expensive repair. However, not having power locks is about the most annoying thing imaginable, especially when you have children in the car.

If you have to spend many hours a week riding as a passenger in a car or on public transportation you may be a great candidate for purchasing one of the new tablets that are being released by nearly every major electronics company. The first of these to achieve widespread appeal was the Apple Ipad.

Since the launch of the Ipad, there have been versions created by several different companies that all do primarily the same thing. They are the step between the smart phone and a laptop computer. They can run applications that are too complicated for a smart phone. This is a great tool for accessing Facebook or some online courses or your favorite social networking website because many of the games that can’t run on a phone will work perfectly on the tablets.

Another great use for these tablets is as an e book reader. For just a small amount more than you would pay for a tool that only has the one use, storing e books, you can purchase a tablet that will make your commute easy and fun. Reading books on a tablet may take a bit of getting used to, but will become second nature after you have done it a bit.

Finally, you may be able to do some of your work or school work from the tablet. You will likely not want to do work that requires loads of typing, but for simple data entry or writing emails to your co-workers you will find the tablet is comfortable and will meet your needs.

As a commuter you will become more productive, and your commutes will seem quicker if you have something to keep your mind occupied. Hopefully, you find that a tablet meets your needs and helps you to become a happier person during rush hour.

If you are planning a road trip any time soon, it’s important make sure you have sufficient automobile insurance coverage for anything that might happen. This not only includes an accident – whether your fault or not – but an incident in which the car is stolen ordamaged.

Here are several reasons why you should have car insurance before leaving on a road trip:

Most states now require some form of car insurance coverage.

Even if it just the minimum amount of coverage, this is still enough so that you meet the letter of the law in those states that do require insurance. If you don’t have insurance, not only would you have to pay for any damages or injuries to other cars, property, or drivers, you might also be faced with expensive court fines.

Automotive insurance can cover rented or borrowed cars.

If you rent a car or borrow one from another person, your auto insurance coverage will most likely cover anything that might happen while operating a car other than one belonging to you. Just make sure you have all registration papers, in case you have to show them.Car insurance is a necessary expense, but you can make it more affordable by getting several insurance quotes. This way, you can compare prices and coverage details and choose the one you can afford.

When gathering your insurance quotes, you may want to ask the following questions:

Will this policy provide out-of-town coverage?

Does it cover rented or borrowed cars?

Is the policy accepted by the majority of states?

Asking these questions will ensure that you have enough information to make an informed decision. When you are getting insurance quotes, remember that they will differ depending on the amount of coverage you request. If you only want liability coverage that will be the least expensive, while full coverage will cost more.

Keeping your car, truck or sports utility vehicle well maintained is a goal of most vehicle owners. This involves buying new tires, regular tune-ups, and occasional part replacements. However, the one task that must be done time and again is getting an oil change.

Depending on your car this may need to be done as often as every couple of months. If you learn how to do it, this is a task you can do yourself for minimal cost and effort. One of the worst parts of changing your own oil is finding a safe place to dispose of the old oil. If you are lucky, your town will have a place set up where you can safely take old oil, paint and other household chemicals for safe disposal.

If you prefer to have someone else change your oil you have many different options. You can take your car to the dealership. This may be more expensive up front, but many warranty programs require you have service done at the dealership, so this can save you money in the long run. Additionally, the dealership will know best what type of oil to use and any other items that need checking out. Also, you may have recall work that needs to be done, which would be free at the dealership.

If you choose to go to an independent location to get your oil changed you can either go to a quick lube location which is usually speedy and fairly cheap. Another option is a mechanic shop, which may take a bit longer but you will usually get great service and the price is normally comparable with the quick lube shops. Many large department stores now have automotive centers that can do simple tasks like changing oil and rotating tires. This is a great option if you are on a budget, but they may not be qualified to do more extensive work on your car.

One thing you will have to consider when purchasing a new vehicle is whether to buy a car, truck, SUV (sports utility vehicle), van or one of the crossover vehicles that attempts to combine the best aspects of a couple of different types. The reasons for going with one type of vehicle over another are varied, and will change from one person to another.

A car is the classic choice for many people. These are great for commuters, single people and couples without children. They generally get the best gas mileage out of all of the vehicle types. People who are looking for an especially sporty vehicle or one that can handle high speeds without causing a bumpy or uncomfortable ride will want to choose a car. Cars also offer the most different sub-styles, allowing you to choose a vehicle that reflects your personality.

Trucks are traditionally thought of as being for those who need to haul large loads for work or pleasure. While this is a great benefit, trucks have come a long way recently in becoming more comfortable and attractive, making them a good choice for many different people. They usually have less interior space than other vehicle choices, so they may not be the right choice for families however.

Sports Utility Vehicles range in size from barely larger than a car up to a huge multi-passenger monstrosity. They are set up to be able to drive off road more easily than other types of vehicles and can range from utility vehicles to some of the most luxurious rides around.

Vans are quickly losing their stigma as being only for soccer moms. People everywhere are beginning to appreciate the comfort and convenience of these large passenger vehicles. Vans are almost a must for families with three or more children, or anyone who regularly drives a lot of passengers around.

Traveling by car is something that is loved by some and dreaded by others. It can be a great way to see our country and connect with your family, but it can also be boring and tiresome. It’s all a matter of perspective and good planning.

Traveling long distances with really young children should be avoided when at all possible. Kids under age 8 or 9 will likely spend the trip being bored and will slow you down considerably. However if you have to drive a long distance with really young kids you can make the trip more bearable by providing healthy snacks, plenty of new books and small toys to distract them, and possibly investing in a portable DVD player for the car.

Older children and teenagers may be able to appreciate the joys of seeing the country by car. They may want to play driving games like travel bingo or the alphabet game to help pass the time, but they may also just enjoy having a conversation with their family or listening to music while enjoying the scenery.

No matter who you are traveling with you should make an effort to stop every couple of hours just to allow everyone to stretch their legs, use the restroom and make sure they stay hydrated. Making an effort to stop somewhere interesting can add a lot of color to your trip. Instead of stopping at a regular old gas station or rest area, look for a historical site, local restaurant or large truck stop and you will be able to experience something out of the ordinary while you get that cup of coffee. Planning ahead is great, but traveling by car is all about having the opportunity to do things spontaneously and experiencing new things, don’t let that chance get away from you.

Maybe you have heard of the legendary designer of Ecko brand clothing, Marc Ecko. Well, so has Nissan, who has decided that the chic designer’s work would go well with their vehicles. Could you imagine what these two creative masterpiece builders are going to come up with as their relationship matures? It is already a well known fact that Mr. Ecko has a penchant for unusual automobiles. He actually possesses his own custom Gurkha (yes, the military vehicle), which he has essentially turned into a very well protected mobile party wagon. Considering that he has a sense of style all his own, it is uncertain what the future holds for these two entities. What is certain, however, is that their relationship is going to be based on mutual respect.

After all, it is hard not to respect self-made individuals such as Mr. Ecko.He rose from obscurity with his lines of clothing, to the point where he was out to have some of his own recently acquired Nissans customized by a crew in Long Island, New York. At around that time, he was actually contacted by the Nissan company, and asked if he would be interested in beginning a partnership with the company, to help them to switch up their designs and create something that is new and different. Naturally, an entrepreneur of his standing can hardly refuse such a potentially enjoyable challenge.

However, it remains to be seen what will end up becoming of the Ecko versions of Nissan vehicles. Obviously, they will be as well built as Nissans always are. But in a medium other than fabric, what will Mr. Ecko do to make these into his own design? Unfortunately for all of the mere mortals out there, no one will know what is lurking inside this brilliant mind until they see it unveiled at a future car show. Until that point, it is really anyone’s guess what they’ll come up with.

Learning to drive a car is something that many teenagers look forward to doing like no other activity. They associate driving a car with freedom and becoming an adult, so it is very important to them to be able to do this. Once they actually know how to drive, many teenagers find that becoming a car owner is a lot more challenging, and a bigger financial investment than they originally thought.

First is the cost of the car itself. The common assumption is that the teenager is either going to be able to purchase a car cheaply using the money they make at a part time job, or that they will get a car as a gift from their parents. If they are given a car as a gift, this step is easy. Purchasing a car on a meager budget however is hard work. The teenager will like need the support of their parents or another trusted adult to help them choose a car that will be reliable and safe, rather than one that will impress their friends.

Next is the cost of gas, maintenance and repairs. Until you are driving yourself you do not realize how much it actually costs to operate a vehicle. Gas is very expensive, and cars require frequent oil changes, new tires and tune-ups even if nothing goes wrong. And as soon as something breaks, you will likely be facing a car repair bill that will cost hundreds of dollars.

Insurance is a final expense that is associated with operating a car can be done through online site controlled by KISSinsights. For a teenager especially this cost can be a major hurdle. Insurance often costs more for young people that don’t have a proven driving history. Check with insurance agents to find out if it will be more affordable to purchase a separate police for the teen or to put the teen on their parent’s policy.

Although EVs (Electronic Vehicles) and hybrids are the rage of the day, there’s nostalgia to a celebration of almost a century of business for any company, particularly an automotive corporation. That almost seems to be the American dream: like buying classic muscle cars and revamping, tuning, and souping them up, or the age-old Woodies of a time long gone. Don’t deny that it would be cool to own an Alfa Romeo because there’s tremendous history behind it.

It’s a pleasure to announce the fact that one of the oldest automobile makers Citroen recently celebrated its 90th anniversary! How fitting given its 1925-to-1934 ambitious advertising on the Eiffel Tower, literally! No, seriously, they wrote the name “CITROEN” right on the building. Maybe they should do that again for the 90-year celebration….

Don’t misunderstand, however, the supposed contrast of some of the newer cars and technologies, specifically hybrid technology and electric power combined with fuel alternatives. Citroen is, of course, delving into the latest to stay on top of the game. But you can imagine the joy of such a reputable car maker and the prestige of owning a used Citroen that has seen the roads for years without blemish and maintenance issues.

As a matter of fact, you might not even want to bother with used Citroens. Make it a real celebration for the history of the automobile starting with the French founder, Andre Citroen in 1919, the man who began the first automotive industry outside the United States. Buy a brand-new Citroen! Its history is decorated with revolutionary technologies in the automotive industry, so make no mistake: there will be more, especially regarding the latest rage in hybrids and electric fuel cells to power cars.

It will truly be a joyous occasion, and hopefully we may see more automotive companies celebrate the same thing all over the world.

Many people feel that they have to have the newest, fanciest car to get around in. However, for some people this is not economically viable. Sometimes, depending on the location they live in, people are able to get by just fine without actually owning a vehicle.

This works out best for those who live either in a big city for a small town. Living in a big city makes it easy to get around because of the abundance of public transportation options. In some towns residents have access to trains for longer trips, the subway for shorter trips and busses that can travel to places where there is not a train route to.

At first glance it seems like it may be expensive to rely on public transportation, however when you consider the cost of purchasing a car, maintaining it, keeping gas in it, and paying for parking it can often be much cheaper to use public transportation. Another benefit of using these systems is that it is much friendly towards the earth to run one large bus that 50 people can ride, instead of 50 separate smaller vehicles.

For those who live in smaller towns, getting by without a car is often viable too. Smaller towns are not as spread out, and likely you can walk or ride a bike anywhere you need to go. If there are longer trips you can’t get to on foot, budgeting for an occasional taxi ride or paying a friend to drive you is much cheaper than the ongoing costs of owning a car.

It can be hard to by without a car if you live in the suburbs or a rural area, but depending on your circumstances you may find a way to get by. Keep an open mind and you will be able to figure out the best transportation option for you.

Purchasing a new or used vehicle can be one of the most stressful purchases you will ever face. Even more stressful is purchasing a used vehicle when you are on a very tight budget. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle that costs under $5,000 or so you will most likely find that dealerships and large used car lots are out of your price range.

When you are buying a low priced car you will most likely be shopping either at small independent car lots or looking at purchasing directly from another individual. In either case there are a few extra things to keep in mind.

Tips for buying a low cost used car

Make sure you know what a fair price is for the car you are considering. When you are dealing with independent sellers you can find a huge range of prices for the same vehicle.

Be certain you get the title signed over and any additional paperwork you need on the same day. Don’t accept a car unless the title is clean.

Have a mechanic or at least someone who knows a lot about cars look over anything before you purchase it. You do not want to get stuck with a lemon.

Along the same lines, consider getting a report of the car’s history. Carfax is a company that offers this service and it is actually quite affordable.

Get a phone number to contact the person you buy the car from. You never know when a question may come up about the vehicle’s history that you cannot answer yourself.

These are just a few of the ways that you can protect yourself and your investment when you are buying a used car. Purchasing an older car can be a great way to save money, but you must be careful you don’t get ripped off in the process.

When people are planning a fun evening out with friends, one thing they often fail to think about is transportation. Planning an outing to a concert, sports event, or a club is often a big undertaking, especially for a large group. One way to reduce some of the headaches involved in planning an event like this is to hire a van or even a limousine to take the hassle out of transportation.

One of the main reasons this works out well is that all participants can relax and enjoy their evening, knowing that they have a safe ride home. If your group is attending an event that serves alcohol, someone always has to make sure not to drink so that they can be a designated driver. This works fine, but this person misses out on some of the fun, and everyone else always has to keep an eye and make sure that the designated driver doesn’t “cheat.” Hiring a driver allows everyone to participate and no one needs to worry about getting home.

Another benefit is convenience. If your group is going to a popular concert or sporting event you may have to park miles away and pay a large parking fee. If you are dropped off and picked up by a driver you will get curbside service.

Many people think that hiring a van or limousine would be a great way to round out an evening with friends, but they worry that it may be out of their price range. The great thing about hiring a driver is the price goes down when you get more people involved. If you have a nice sized group you may find that it is much more affordable than you imagined. You will save on parking fees, gas and wear and tear on your own automobiles. It is certainly something to keep in mind next time you are enjoying an evening out with friends.

A large number of people get in our car every time we need or want to go somewhere without thinking about it. Driving is, of course, a very important part of everyday life. However, much of the time it is not the only way or even the best way to get around.

For those individuals who live in an urban area, or even in a small town it is often possible to get many of the places we want to go without ever cranking the car. A bicycle may seem like something only children use or something that is out of the 1800’s, but in reality they can be very useful for many people. While you will likely not want to completely stop driving, there are many times when riding a bike will be the smart choice.

Benefits of Bike Riding

Significant money savings – Not only will bike riding save on gas, it also saves on maintenance and costly repairs. In some cases there may be a savings on parking or ticket fees.

Health benefits – Many people do not get enough exercise; riding a bike even a few minutes every day will improve overall cardiovascular health and may help with meeting weight loss goals.

Go green – Riding a bicycle instead of driving helps reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and will also reduce a person’s overall carbon footprint.

Riding a bike instead of driving, even for a few trips each week is a smart choice for many people around the world. If you haven’t ridden since you were a child, there is no time like the present to purchase, rent or borrow a bicycle and give it a shot. Once you are comfortable on the bike you can start breaking the driving habit and only get in the car when it is really necessary.

Driving is an activity where you need to pay attention, but most people don’t see it as actually being dangerous. Of course, there are times when it can become hazardous – like when the weather is bad. Driving in snow, heavy rain, or a dust storm, for example, can reduce visibility and make it difficult to stay on the road. It’s better if you can stay home during those kinds of weather events, but that’s not always possible. People have to work, they need to get to the store to buy something, or they have other errands which they need to run, and they have to get out on the roads to do those things.

If you can’t stay home and the weather is bad, being prepared is the next best thing. Make sure your cell phone is charged, and that someone else knows where you’re going and when you should arrive. That way they can contact you or call emergency personnel if you don’t show up. With your cell phone, you also may be able to call out – although your phone may not get a good signal if the weather is very bad.

You should also have a first aid kit in your car and some emergency supplies like flares, a blanket, snacks, and water. If you’re stuck in the snow or trapped somewhere in your car because of the weather, you’ll have food and water, and a way to stay warmer. You can also use the flares to let people know where you are. Lastly, make sure you start out with a full tank of gas. If it’s a long trip, stop and fill the tank often so it doesn’t get too low. By doing that, you’ll be safer because you’ll have more gasoline if you do get trapped. You can run the car for heat or a/c if needed.

Most people need a running vehicle. Unless they never leave their house they have to have some kind of transportation. Some people can take a taxi or a bus, but not all areas of the country are well-equipped when it comes to public transportation. Because of that, people have to drive their own vehicles if they want to go to work, to the store, or anywhere else. Even if there are a lot of taxis in your area, they can get very expensive. If you ride the bus, you’re at the mercy of the bus company’s schedule. It’s easier, faster, and often much more convenient just to drive your own vehicle.

One important consideration when you decide that you need to drive – or when you just want to – is what kind of car will be best suited to you and your lifestyle. Of course, what you can afford will be part of that concern. There are some people who just don’t have a lot of money, and they certainly can’t go around buying expensive vehicles. They have to buy used, and they often purchase from a private owner because it’s cheaper than buying from a dealer. Even people in that situation have a choice, though, because they can pick from several different types and styles of vehicles that people have for sale in their price range.

For people who have more money to finance their vehicle purchase, the options are even grander. If they want a truck or a car, what size, and for how much money are all factors. Before you decide, consider what you’ll be doing with the vehicle you’re thinking of buying. Just buying something because of the way it looks isn’t a good idea, because that isn’t as important as how it rides, how much power it has, and other factors. Consider all options carefully.

Travelling by car is considered to be the most private mean of transportation. It is convenient in every possible way. It saves time as compared to a bus where you have to wait long. You can choose your own route to the destination. You can stop on the way whenever and wherever you like. You do not have to wait for the bus or train to stop to get some food rather you can stop as soon you feel hungry.

If you have planned to travel abroad by your own car, it is your best plan ever. The way you can enjoy a long journey in a private car has no comparison with bus, planes or ships. Travelling by your car is the best way to save your money. As a family you can enjoy your trip far better in a car than in a bus or plane. You will have plenty of chances to stop and enjoy the beautiful places on your way. You can take snaps to show off your friends when you are back, have lunches or dinner on an isolated corner and can listen to music of your own choice loud.

There is no better way to enjoy with your family than a road trip by a car. But it can be your worst trip too if you are not well prepared for a road trip. As you are travelling by a car, get your car ready and thoroughly checked by any service station. Make sure car’s tank is full of gas. Do not forget to keep the food with you in case you want to save money from buying on your way. Take good collection of car music with you. Have camera batteries with you and last but not the least, keep your cell phones charge; you might need them on your way. Wish you a safe journey but do not forget to fill in auto insurance claims form if you have an accident.

Since childhood I always dreamt of having a Classic Car. I purchased a “1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1” after growing up. Though buying a Classic Car is quite a task but once you’ve bought a car the important job is to take good care of it and securing its value so that the money paid is not wasted.

Taking care of a classic car requires some diligence and loving care but proper maintenance adds years of enjoyment to it. There are many ways in which you can care for your Classic Car. This includes interior and exterior care as well as getting it properly insured.

Exterior maintenance is vital as it enhances the Classic Car’s appearance. One way of improving the Classic car’s appearance is maintaining its paint while washing it. You should use the right tools to wash your classic car. Using a paint-safe microfiber or cotton washing mitt along with a car wash that is specially designed for classic cars is a good choice. Choose a non-detergent, pH balanced car wash formula to avoid striping off the wax. Also keep in mind to dry your classic car well once you are done with washing. Neglecting drying after washing causes water spots and mineral deposits to form on the paint.

Taking Mechanical care of a classic car will require a regular inspection. This should be given an extra attention if your Classic Car is rarely driven. The best thing in this case is to start your car and drive short distances occasionally. Doing so, you can avoid flat spots on the tires. On the other hand it is recommended to use lubricating and protective oils or cleaners on rubber parts, hinges, hoses and belts. Always make sure to check all of your fluids because leaks can develop in dried out gaskets causing severe engine or transmission damage.

The third and most important aspect is Classic Car Insurance . You might need insurance like 21st century insurance that are specifically designed to provide cover for the classic cars. Remember a classic car always needs your love and care and if you’ll be caring your car it will keep increasing your pride.

If you’ve seen the crash tests that are performed by the government and the car companies, you’ve probably wondered if it’s necessary to smash up so many perfectly good cars. While it might seem like a waste of metal, it’s actually very important from the standpoint of saving lives and helping people stay safe from injury when they get into an accident in their vehicle. Of course, there’s no way to prevent all injuries and deaths from vehicles unless you take them all off the road, but even reducing the number of serious problems is a great way to help people feel safe and encourage them to buy particular vehicles.

Before you buy your next car or truck, find out how well it did in the crash tests. All vehicles sold in the US must meet certain standards but that doesn’t mean that they’re all equal. Some exceed the standards, and those may be the kinds of vehicles you want to buy, because they’re generally going to be safer. People also purchase vehicles based on the price and the looks, too, but those shouldn’t take precedent over how safe the vehicle is. The looks really don’t matter in a serious accident. Neither does the price you paid.

If you’re unsure about what makes up the crash test ratings or how the vehicle you’re looking at really measures up, be sure to ask your salesperson so you can get the information you need to make the best choice. Keep in mind that person is trying to sell you a particular vehicle, so if you don’t feel you’re getting the right information you should talk to a manager, or do research in another way. You want to get the best, safest vehicle that you can afford and be happy with your purchase for a long time.

No matter how long you’ve been around, you’ve probably noticed that transportation is changing. There aren’t any fancy, flying cars or anything like that, but society has come a long way from the kinds of vehicles that were driven even 25 or 50 years ago. There’s also been more emphasis on ‘going green,’ and hybrid cars have shown up. There are electric cars that have to be charged up each night, and there are solar-powered options being worked on. Right now, these kinds of cars can’t keep up with the standard, gasoline-powered vehicles that are available, but there may be a time in the future where they’ll mean real competition.

Don’t assume that you can’t afford one of these ‘green’ cars, either. They’re not cheap, but they’re not really much more costly than their standard counterparts – and they’ll give you the benefit of using far less gasoline over time. In short, if you keep the car long enough you’ll end up spending less in total. If you’re one of those people who only keeps a car for a couple of years and then trades it in on something else, a hybrid might not be for you, at least from a financial standpoint.

Many people who buy these vehicles don’t buy them to save money, though. They buy them so that they can help the planet. That’s a noble cause, but there will have to be a lot more of them sold before any noticeable impact is actually seen. Don’t discount the value of them, but do be realistic when you’re purchasing one. If you do that you’ll be buying one for the right reasons and you’ll have a better chance of making the right choice for your lifestyle. You’ll also have a car you can be proud of for a long time.

In an effort to help the planet, a lot of people are buying “green” cars. If you’re considering one, you should look into the option carefully. They’re definitely here to stay, but they aren’t right for every person out there. If you make long trips frequently, or you just do a lot of driving during the day, a hybrid car might not be for you. You’ll still use a lot of gasoline when the charge runs out. If you have a car that’s all-electric, you can’t drive that far before it needs to be charged – and charging takes time.

Of course, there are some people who will do just fine when it comes to the hybrid or electric cars. These are people who have a very short commute that doesn’t involve interstate driving, and who are conscientious enough to make sure that they plug their car in every night. They’re interested in helping out the planet as much as possible, and they’re dedicated and committed to that cause. They understand that they’ll need to pay more for the car that they buy, but they don’t mind that. They’re happy to do it, because of the long-term ramifications for the earth.

Just make sure you know what you’re really buying when you choose a “green” car, so you’ll end up with what you want and need. Don’t buy one just to make a statement, and then find that you can’t use it the way you want because it doesn’t stay charged long enough or save you enough money. A car is an expensive purchase, and you don’t want to buy the wrong thing and make a mistake. That kind of problem can be easily avoided by people who think carefully about their choices and options. Make sure you’re one of those people.

Getting car insurance is vital for driving car on the roads. It is the most important thing that you have to do when you decide about driving a car on the road whether for short term or for long term. After purchasing a car, the second most important thing that a driver has to do is to get him insured on that car to be able to drive it. Driving a car without being insured on it is a crime.

Depending upon different criteria, the car insurance of a person can be very cheaper or it can be very expensive. You must be interested in learning such factors. These are:

1- Age of Driver:

Getting cheaper car insurance for teenagers is really tough. It is the teenagers that get the most expensive car insurances in many cases because they are expected to drive wrongly and hence are more prone to accidents. However, people aged over 60 normally get the cheapest insurance. People aged 30-40 are more likely to get reasonable car insurance quotes.

2- Years of Driving:

Old drivers are more likely to get cheaper car insurances. However, new drivers find it hard to get cheaper car insurance for the first year. So, if you are a new driver then keep ready to spend double the amount for your car insurance than what an old driver of same age as yours is paying.

3- Carbon Emission:

Global warming has become an issue. Car insurance companies usually quote cheaper insurances to cars that are green friendly. Different makes and models of cars contribute more towards carbon emission and hence they are more likely to get higher car insurances. However the cars that emit less carbon get low car insurances.

4- Make and Model of Car:

If you are using local make and model of a car then you will usually get a cheaper car insurance quote as compared with getting car insurance on an imported car.

5- Driving Convictions:

People having points on their licences or having different driving convictions are more likely to get higher insurance premiums.

I hope the above points will help you understand the factors that can contribute towards getting lower car insurance premiums. There are many companies like

21st century insurance that offer best car insurance premiums at low rates.

Buying a car (whether it’s used or new) can be exciting, but it’s not the end of your responsibility. You also need to make sure you have (and keep) the proper insurance on it. If you don’t have insurance, you can get into trouble with the law. That’s not the only problem, of course. You can also end up with a totaled car and no way to pay for it if you get into an accident. If your car is valuable and you can’t afford to replace it, make sure you keep collision insurance on it. That way, you don’t have to worry about the financial issues surrounding a crash, no matter whose fault the accident might be. With a financed vehicle, collision insurance is required.

Also, most states require at least basic coverage to get your tag or renew a car registration. If you don’t have insurance on your car, you’re not legal to drive and your registration can be suspended. If you’re not sure about the insurance laws and regulations in your state, be sure to ask. Another important thing to find out is the cost of the insurance. If you’re trading up and buying a car that’s a lot more expensive than your last one, your insurance will be higher. Make sure you can pay the higher premiums before you agree to the deal.

Don’t buy the car and then call your insurance company, only to find out that your premiums are too much for you to pay. Check first, when you find the vehicle that you really like and want to buy. There won’t be any ‘sticker shock’ from the insurance company that way. When you do get insurance, make sure you talk with your agent about the coverage that you can and should get, so you can have peace of mind when you’re driving.

When it comes to travel, there can be all kinds of ways to get around. How much you want to spend, where you’re going, who’s traveling with you, and other factors can all matter on your trip. The budget is, by far, usually the largest issue for most people when they travel, because they don’t want to spend a lot. Many times, they simply can’t spend a lot because they don’t have it available. That’s unfortunate, but it’s a fact of life for a lot of people. If you’re one of them, don’t assume that you can’t travel just because you’re not rich.

There are many options for traveling that don’t cost that much, and you can choose from them or combine them to save you money. For example, go on your trip in the off-season. Visit the beach in the wintertime, and take that trip to the mountains in the summer. That way you’ll avoid the crowds and you’ll also save yourself a lot of money. That’s a win-win in the eyes of most people. You should also consider booking your trip early, because many airlines and hotels give you discounts when you book ahead of time. If you have special needs, ask about that when you’re booking, so you can be accommodated.

You should also consider making shorter trips and/or staying closer to home. If you don’t travel as far, you can save big on the gasoline for your car, or you can avoid spending too much on hotel rooms for several nights as you’re driving to your destination. There are plenty of things to explore close to home, so don’t assume that you can’t have any fun unless you go far away. More and more people are taking vacations closer to home lately, so you definitely won’t be alone.

Cars and other methods of transportation have changed a lot recently, and they’ll probably keep changing. It makes people wonder what the future will hold for transportation and the people who use it. Will there be flying cars, after all? No one really knows for sure, of course, but there’s certainly a lot of speculation about what could happen. Each year, car makers come out with prototype cars that look like nothing else on the planet, but you don’t see them in production. Where do they go, and what’s the point of them if they aren’t going to be used for anything?

No matter what happens to them, though, they’re certainly interesting. They’re something to talk about, and they get people interested in cars and their future. Cars and trucks aren’t the only things that are changing, though. There are advances in planes, trains, and buses, making things easier in some cases for the people who use them for travel. Some people don’t like the changes, but that’s the case with everything. There will always be people who will like the changes and people who won’t.

For your personal future, though, transportation will hold what you want it to hold. If you like cars, there will always be plenty. Ditto for trucks and for SUVs, too. They might change the way they look to some extent, but there will still be plenty of choices for you and other people to pick from. Don’t assume that you won’t end up with a car or truck you like in the future. The car companies do listen to what customers want, because they know they need to in order to keep people coming back and buying from them. Make your voice heard, and you’ll secure your options for having great cars and trucks to choose from in the future.

Having auto insurance is not only important, it also happens to be legally necessary in most states. But there is a big difference between having the state’s minimum amount of insurance coverage, and having a level of insurance coverage that is actually going to benefit you. For this reason, it is vitally important that you understand the different types of insurance that are available to you, and that you figure out what types of auto insurance are going to meet your needs in the best possible way. The only way that you are going to be able to get through a car accident, damage or theft is to have adequate coverage.

You need to be aware of the fact that the minimum amount of insurance required from one state to the next is really going to differ depending on what state you are living in. Additionally, the types of coverage that are offered is also going to vary significantly not only from state to state, but also from company to company as well. Auto insurance Albany companies are going to offer something completely distinct to companies offering auto insurance in San Diego, for example. Generally the same basic types of coverage are provided, but the difference is going to be the costs for the monthly premiums and the deductible amounts.

Choosing the right insurance for your vehicle is absolutely essential. The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have the bare minimum that is required by your state. Next, you are going to want to get to know what your additional options are so that you can buy additional coverage as needed. Having the right coverage for your vehicle is absolutely essential in ensuring that you are protected no matter what happens to you and your vehicle.

If you have a vehicle that’s under recall, you’ll get a notice about it. When you do receive that, be sure to take your vehicle into the dealer and let the technicians there take care of it. It’s never a good idea to ignore a recall, and doing so could void your warranty. Even if your vehicle isn’t still under warranty, you don’t want ignoring a recall to affect your financial situation when something breaks later on. It could mean a very costly repair, or even an accident. Neither of those things would be good, so avoiding them is important. You won’t be charged for a recall, so all it will take you is a little bit of time.

Recalls can be for all kinds of things, not all of which are dangerous. If you don’t want to get the recalls addressed no one can force you, but it’s something you’ll want to consider when it comes to keeping the value of the vehicle up. Otherwise, you may not be offered as much when you go to sell it later on. Being honest with a buyer would be very important, and so would taking care of your car or truck as well as possible.

Don’t just get the oil changed and things like that. Take care of any recall notices, too, and keep your vehicle clean and treated well. That’s a great way to show that your car or truck matters to you, and that attention to detail will be important when you go to sell it or trade it in on something else. Whoever is buying it will want to see that it’s been taken care of appropriately, and if you can’t show that it has been cared for properly it could hurt the resale value of the trade-in allowance you can get.

People talk about buying small, hybrid cars to save money, but there are other options, too. if you’re not traveling too far or carrying much with you, why not use a bicycle? It might not be practical for all situations and weather conditions, but there are certainly some times where you could use it. Even a few times would save you money, and it wouldn’t take long before you’d recoup the cost of the bicycle and start actually saving some money. You can get a bicycle very cheaply, too, so you don’t have to worry about spending hundreds of dollars on something like that.

You can use your bicycle to get to work, to go to the store, or just to get some exercise. If you live close to places like the library, you can also go there and pick up some great things to read. If you do all of that without using your car, you’ll be saving a lot of money on gasoline and you’ll also be helping to protect the planet from the harmful emissions that cars and trucks put out in their exhaust. Those are both important things, and they can make you feel like you’re really doing your part.

Of course, you won’t always be able to use your bicycle. There will be times when a car is needed, but that’s common for everyone today. If you’re trying to cut down how much you use your car even more, you can take public transportation if it’s available in your area. That way you’ll have more of a chance to avoid driving and you can save more money on gasoline. If you have friends nearby, you can carpool with them, too, and you might also want to get them interested in bicycling with you for fun and exercise.
